A stat for agents who NR on submissions
« on: April 29, 2013, 07:58:02 AM »
Hi Patrick,

Is there something like this in the premium features I am missing?

I'd like to be able to record agents who don't respond to submissions.

Thanks,

SB

Hi SB,
You can mark the agent's reply to the submission as "closed / no response". Is that what you're looking for, or something else?

Hi Patrick,

I meant (and it might be there and I'm spacing it) where members can look up an agent who does not respond to submissions, and nudges on submissions--only silence.

I was looking at the stats for submission response times and noting that the particular agent I was researching had requested a lot of manuscripts, but the submission response time on partials and fulls only indicated a handfull of positive and negative responses.

Thanks.

Over here: http://querytracker.net/top-10-agents.php There's a list of the top 10 non-responsive agents. I'm not sure if it's possible to generate a list of the rest of them as well, but that would be cool, sorting out the Top Non Responders To Requested Material, and Non-Responses From Agents Who Request Over 35% Of What Crosses Their Desks.

you can click on "Go to data explorer" on any agent, if you are a premium member. There you can find how many CLOSED/ NO RESPONSES each agent has. (or rejections and requests) You can also narrow search down to genre, etc. You can also search in REPORTS, next to comments and genre for every agent or publishers.

This isn't quite what you want, but if you go under "search agents," at the very bottom it says "Genre Response Report," and you can then select your genre. If you click on the % for rejections, you can reverse the sort order so it sorts from lowest to highest. Lots of 0%s in the genre I picked, but that's also including agents who only got queried once.

I can see where that would be a nice feature to have. Let me see what I can do.

Thanks, Patrick. You are awesome. It is a little thing, but it would be nice to
see if this is typical behavior or unusual. (besides the fact that it will feel good
to record it/give the peon some power)
I was thinking, in order to narrow it down, you might want to have this stat apply when a person has nudged after say, six
months, and still gets no response after say, two weeks?
Not sure if these figures are good for these purposes, but it would at least let people know the parameters.
