When You Think You'll Never Land an Agent...

Hey folks! I have a few different interviews floating around about how I landed my agent, but I thought I'd share the QT one I recently submitted to Patrick!

For anyone who feels like their time is ticking--like you'll never find an agent--I hope this brings you comfort. I was in a dark place before I signed with mine this summer because I'd been hunting for ten years. Everyone says to never give up, but it begins to feel like a line we all tell each other. But it really is true! Keep reading, writing, researching, and querying. There is an art to perfecting the patience required of you throughout this journey.

What a fabulous interview - congratulations!  Your book sounds awesome!  I definitely want to read that. 

I'm at that point in my process where I just feel so down and not even sure I should query anymore.  Your pep talk definitely makes me rethink it.  So thank you.

Aw, thank you so much! It was a contest my CP introduced me to on Brenda Drake's site called The Writer's Voice. Also, while we were editing with our coaches, I participated in a free query critique Moe Ferrara was hosting on Reddit. She requested the manuscript through the Reddit critique, which was a pleasant surprise! But she was also a secret agent on The Writer's Voice contest. So that's how we connected
