With the novel in the final stretch I fear Daisies will be just another show I wished I had time for. DAMN YOU AWESOME TV SHOWS!

You should get tivo, it's my best friend. If it were a person we would be like this:  :x:
Anyway, Daisies has been tivo'd, but I haven't watched it yet. I'll give my imput when I do.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may no spiders fall on your head.

hey, anyone online?
sooo...I'm at school, and we're starting our rough drafts of college essays. ( :puke2:) I don't really know what to write about...anyone want to make up some random quality for me?  ;D
Or, I was thinking of talking about writing...something along the lines of "being a writer has influenced me in such and such ways, blah blah, random crap..."
uh, but in what ways?
grrrrrrrrrrrrr

It doesn't have to be about yourself.  It can be about writing in general.  You could write about the agent search process.  You'd get plenty of help with that.

my son wrote an tongue-in-cheek essay about a harvard rejection letter he'd gotten.  it was so well received that on the first day of orientation, i had profs in his college come up and tell me, la mama, how much they enjoyed it.

my conclusion?  go for relaxed and GOOD writing - the content doesn't matter, but your writing does.

Uh oh.

Hey Patrick, I thought you said that the QT Pager you gave me would sound off if there was a forum emergency!

Well, sorry I missed the fire drill.  Chelc - what exactly is the essay question?  Surely there are different ones for each school, no?  Or was this just a preliminary exercise for class?

Either way, I'm confident you'll come up with something inspired soon enough.  Joan's right - just let your brain relax.  You're fully capable of dazzling admissions people... Or at least scaring them! :wag:

Got the Phils game on in the background, Joan... Good luck!

Someone get Joan a stiff drink - STAT!  The Rockies just hit a grand slam & the woman's possibly in pain!

Wait - did sports suddenly become a forbidden topic in the tavern?  My God - have we finally found a topic others hold in contempt?

Fine.  I guess I'll just cancel the Tavern's order for an air-hockey table!
