I was just curious how our contact and other information should be placed in a query. A site I visted suggested this layout.

                          authors Name
                                  title
                            word count
                                 genre

                                                                   authors Name
                                                                      address
                                                                 phone number
                                                                        email

Dear agent,

If you're mailing it, possibly. But for email I'd use email format. Put the info about the book in the body of the email. Read queries on this site to see how that's best done.

This is the query format I'd use:

Dear Ms. Agent:

My query in three to five paragraphs.

Best regards,
Your Name

your@email.address
(YOUR) PHONE-NUMBER
@yourTwitterHandle
www.yourwebsite.ifyouhaveone

If you have other social media you want to let them know about, put it there as well.

Gushags does it the way I've always done it. I've had plenty of requests and never a problem.

Ultimately, I don't think it's super important, so long as the information's there, but it's best to format it the same as everyone else.

What gushags said.

All that formatting you were told (centering, indents, etc.) will get wiped out by the email program, and since 99.9999999% of all queries are sent by email, well, there you go.
