Patience and perserverance is key to success.

Hey everyone!

You guys knew that I was working at CP a second season. Aside from the work life I have been dealing with a lot more outside it.

I do remember telling you guys in a previous post that I plan on telling you something when the time is right. Well, this is that post.

Last night, I did not just finish the season. Later last night into this morning, I escaped from my parents. After all these years of abuse, I finally decided that enough is enough.

I'm not going to break it down to detail, but I'm dealing with a narcissist for a father who only cares about himself and always has to get his way. When I was younger, I'll just say there was a lot of alcohol and porn involved. Apologies if this is a bit too much to be posting on this forum.

I also have a brother who moved out over four years ago. When he lived with us, I was a prisoner in my own home. He would physically attack me if I ever tried to cook in the kitchen or wash my clothes whenever I was home. He'd also do his best to stay at home and keep me trapped.

My mother was a conformant to both of these abusers, and she tried to win me over with emotional blackmail. Well, I eventually saw through it and have been planning my escape since. While I planned and beforehand, I'd always have to check in even though I'm nearly 30.

This escape was years in the making, and I am finally free! I can now be a normal adult and do what I want. I'm so happy!

Thank you everyone! My first steps forward will be to take one day at a time. I am so thankful that I was able to find a way out of this situation. Over the past year I've noticed that I am not the only adult kid who's been trapped in their homes by toxic parents, and I feel that I will eventually need to find a way to help as many of them as possible out of such situations. There are so many issues in this world that most people don't really notice issues like these, but I know this is one cause I am willing to fight for.

Once again, thank you everyone!

Welcome back quiarahb!

Once again! Thank you everyone!

With social media being a big thing with families these days, escaping these situations can get tricky. However, I trained myself how to handle them properly, so I'm good. I've had a couple relatives add me after I left and made the announcement. Then one tried to blast me for it, so I blocked them. No one's said a thing after that, but I do expect more to bother me in the future over it.

Other than that, things are looking up from here. I even start a new job this week! Thumbs Up

Good for you and congrats!

Thank you both of you! And yes, I am enjoying my new job. A lot faster paced work compared to sending people off in rides, but I've adjusted pretty well.
