I'm not clear on what this means.

Meaning, she likes the idea of a f/f military romance where one of the romantic interests may be a spy for the bad guys, but she's doesn't like the way the story actually unfolds in the novel.

That happens to me a lot. When I'm excited to read a book but then I'm disappointed that it goes in a direction I'm not as thrilled with.
