Pasting Italics in Gmail
« on: October 01, 2019, 12:28:08 PM »
I had a querying breakthrough the other day, and I thought I'd share my discovery in hopes that it can help someone else.

If any of you write in Android, you might have noticed that when you paste text from a word processing app into Gmail, the Italics disappear. This can be a headache when querying agents who want sample pages in the body of the email.

After getting really tired of having to re-italicize 5-10 pages of text on a regular basis, I finally discovered a workaround. If you convert your document into an HTML file (there are apps available for this), you can copy text from the HTML and paste it into Gmail without losing formatting.

I never would have been able to query that one agent who wanted the first 50 pages in the email body if I hadn't figured this out...
