Hi All,
After about six weeks on submission, we received an offer. My agent let the other editors know. Some people asked for more time. Meanwhile he negotiated the original offer. Anyway, no other editors offered, and eventually we all agreed on price, rights, etc. The editor then told my agent something like, "okay, I'll send this off to Contracts." That was three weeks ago, and I'm kind of freaking out, because I still haven't received it. My agent has followed up, and the company is a bit backed up right now. He has worked with this editor before and expects the contract shortly. Anyway, does anyone know, do these things ever fall through? How long does this usually take? I am a complete mess. With each additional day, I'm becoming further convinced that the editor has changed his mind. Any insight at all would be appreciated.
