Literary agents either reject or green light queries...Why is my submission in between? Anyone?

It may be in the "read this again and think about it" pile, which many agents do have. It's easy to reject the query that's one long continuous sentence or submitting a cookbook to an agent who reps YA fiction. It's easy to accept the query that's exactly what you're looking for and the author already had a bestseller. Most of us on this forum will fall into the middle.

The "I'll re-read these pages in the cold light of day" pile may also be the "My assistant screened the queries and these are the 5% of queries that seem promising" pile.

Tabris,
Thank you for you input. Keep trying is the only way to "maybe" get there.
