Okay, I'll start. I have a hard time with "effect" and "affect". Who has a simple trick to help tell them apart?

I just remember that someone who acts affected acts silly or fake. (Lots of 'A's)  :shower:
Affect = acts upon; creates an effect.

Effect, as in Special Effects, is the other one.  :naughty:
Effect = outcome or result.

That's oversimplified, but it's how I remember.  Until I think about it toooo hard. :emb2: Then I have to go look them up.
