Unusual contest -- 24-Hour Short Story Contest
« on: January 24, 2023, 04:36:34 AM »
Basically, you sign up and pay your $5 entry fee without knowing the topic or the length of the story you will write on April 15, 2023.

After you register, you get a receipt and some guidelines, but still not the topic or the length. You don't get those until noon on April 15, apparently. Then, like everybody else, you head out of the starting gate at noon. (Length will be in the range of 500 - 2000 words.)

For each contest, they put out a little scenario to show the topic, but, evidently, you don't just copy that and continue from there.
You just have to "touch on" the topic illustrated in the given scenario.

There are general FAQs on the home page now and and a link to examples of 1st-place stories from previous contests.

Thinking of trying this. Anybody else?

This sounds so fun and exactly the kind of thing I like to do.
