The scribe agency
« on: June 30, 2007, 10:03:56 PM »
I'm not saying anything good or bad about them, just that this is the rejection letter I received from them:

thank you for your query, but we are not interested.

peace

That is different.  Kind of weird.

Did you go into your QueryTracker account and flag this query as rejected?

Peace out, homey.  Nice and professional.  I wish we had a smiley with a middle finger to send them.  Until, this will have to do :flame:

 I love that! And by the way Patrick I did mark them off as rejected, which leads me to a question I have, but I will post it for others under query tracker support.

I got that same rejection email. Thought it was a little odd.

are you sure they are an actual agency?
it looked like something a bunch of bored teens would make up to me. I mean, how many adults use the phrase "and then some?" (home page--by the all rights reserved line)

Just found the URL...but I see Lannie already took care of that...thanks!

This is what The Agent List had to say about Scribe Agency

Scribe Agency
5508 Joylynne Drive
Madison, WI 53716
Agents: Kristopher O'Higgins, Jesse Vogel
Webpage:Scribe Agency
Accepts: Fiction "of all genres". Looks like a strong leaning towards the literary and/or bizarre.
Send: Cover letter, synopsis, and first three chapters, by snail mail or email. Via email they want the chapters and synopsis attached as a Word document.
Speculative fiction clients: Ben Peek, Darin C. Bradley, Forrest Aguirre, Barth Anderson, Timothy S. Miller, others.
Comments: A very... unique agency. Their sales and credentials are legit, but either you're going to like their style, or you aren't. Visiting the website before submitting is highly recommended.

The Agency List

It is a website   (http://katfeete.net/writing/agents.html)  that has a listing of a lot of agents with comments...pretty good really.  Not as spiffy as QT, but good information.

Oh well. It's better than one of the rejections I've received with a "no thanks" scrawled in red ink on my original query letter. And it's also better than no response at all. I have eight queries out there from June that I have given up for dead.

RE-SEND them!!! I told you, Sensh, three agents asked for partials on queries I resent after hearing nothing. But wait until you revise. Changing the title doesn't hurt either.  :)
