Request for a Partial!

Yeah!!! :clap: :clap:

I just got my first request for a partial.  I'm so happy.   Now, I'm scared...

I haven't constructed any kind of a letter to send with my partial.  Just what needs to be included in it?  Also, this submission and request was done via email...do I copy the original message when I send my partial or will that make it too long?

What to do, what to do, what to do...???

did they say if the partial should be an attachment? Seems short and sweet would be best.. since their request would be connected with the email.

...thanks for requesting a partial, attached are (is?) the first 3 (or whatever)... I look forward to hearing from you.... sincerely..

What else is there? especially when everything you've done so far is part of the email going back to them.

And yeah, I agree with EmSky - short and sweet.  No need to include a copy of the original query, but if you want to, you won't be flamed for it either.

Hi abi.  I included a copy of the original query when i sent my full, but not on my partials.  Just a short note, like what emsky said.  The request I just got asked me to send the partial in an email attachment, so I'll just put a short note saying thanks for considering it, here are the requested chapters.... and in the subject line make sure you put "requested material" and the name of your book

And...Congratulations!!!!   :clap:  must be a good day for requests  ;D  good luck!  and, you just have to hold your breath and send  ;D  I get nervous every time, but I'm trying to learn to just send and not stress...easier said than done I know  ;D

Congrats Abi! I would just send the letter like EmeraldSky said above.  Short and sweet...you want them to use the extra time to request your full!

Have we looked at your query, Lannie? I don't know about Abi, but mine, GG's, Lege's and Elky's have all been ripped apart here and the requests followed. I don't think Lege has sent his newest query out, right, since it's still a WIP.
