Bueno Y'all
« on: November 13, 2007, 09:54:14 PM »
Hello all. Looked you a bit over. At first I was confused thinking every writer was a stunningly handsome male (left me a feeling a bit inadequate) and that writers have to lean to the left in their picture. I thought--okay this is some kind of political statement, or god dammit where do I get one of those leany camera thingys! But further review exposed that most are the men that dreams are made of, and lean as they might these men probably can't write. Phew... I feel better.

Anybody here go back to the boards at PGL? (Project Greenlight) The handle JustWrite looks like one I remember from there.

About me: Finally buckled down to write that novel I promised myself some eight thousand years ago. I write every day, usually two single-spaced pages. Amazing how it adds up when you keep at it. I spent a lot of time reading about writing rather than doing it.

My biggest fear is that this place could become addictive like PGL was for me. I spent a lot less time on my script when the boards seemed so interesting. Hopefully my discipline will see me through--I'm too far down the road to call it quits now so I'm braving meeting all of you.

If anybody does go back to PGL I was "solo" there.

Nice to meetcha, and hope we have things beneficial to share.

Actually, our guys are all stunningly handsome. (Much more so than those avatars they modestly hide behind.) Fear not, you'll fit right in.

Except most of your "guys" seem to be women!

As a side note you did motivate me to look up the word eclat.... hmmm, now I need a conversation to use it with. No problem the one holiday party that I maybe will, sorta know a person who's having one, heard about it from a guy who knows somebody I used to know, that I get invited to will probably be just waiting for the bon mot I sprinkle that one into.

Hi and welcome!  I'm afraid this place is impossibly addictive, but we are also pretty good at forcing some work from each other as well  ;D
Author with Entangled Publishing - I write historical romance as Michelle McLean and contemporary romance as Kira Archer. Also have a few non-fictions thrown in for fun :-)

they're among us...

Welcome to the boards, Alien.

Elky is right - this place can become an addiction.  Here to help ensure you don't develop a true problem are some warning signs:

1.  You find yourself staring at the Kool-Aid section of your grocery store for 5... 10... 20 minutes.  You have this strange urge to fall to your knees and begin chanting.

2.  You begin to introduce yourself at parties as your username.

3.  When reading a book or the morning paper, you think, "Wow, this piece could really use more smileys."

4.  When people do something nice for you - say opening a door when your hands are full - you inexplicably say, "Thank you so much - karma for you!"

If any of the above happens to you...

Don't fight it. :kahyp:

Regarding the above:

1) What's a grocery store? I'm married <he says while ducking from the anticipated flame>
2) What's a party? I'm.... did I mention I'm married?
3) If you ever see me use a smiley please have me kilt till i'm ded. >:(
4) I can't help but think of Boy George and Geiko insurance, John Lennon, and little cars that end with Ghia everytime I hear that word.. but this too shall pass...

Thank you very much for your hilarious post... made me smile outside (he said in his interior voice)
