I just remember that someone who acts affected acts silly or fake. (Lots of 'A's)
Affect = acts upon; creates an effect.
Effect, as in Special Effects, is the
other one.
Effect = outcome or result.
That's oversimplified, but it's how I remember. Until I think about it toooo hard.
Then I have to go look them up.
