I'm not open to picture books or illustration portfolios.

I'm looking for the smart, the funny and the wondrous. I want to be delighted and overjoyed, kicking my feet at a clever turn of phrase, a thrilling twist or the yearning coming to fruition.

I'm looking for middle grade and YA across all genres with a particular lean towards graphic novels as a medium, and adult in the romance, romantasy and fantasy spaces. I'm looking for fresh voices, new perspectives and books that ignite my curiosity. I want to see non-Western myth retellings, voices that haven't been seen enough in publishing (cis white men that doesn't mean you), and books that will broaden my horizons. I lean to the commercial end of the spectrum and am not a fan of purple prose. I love sparky voices and zippy, witty writing.

In middle grade I'm exclusively looking for humour. Please make me laugh - the world is tough enough and I think young readers deserve to laugh. If your book is illustrated or has illustration potential, even better. I'd particularly love to see books to get boys excited about reading, be that through adventure, humour or a character they can relate to and root for.

In YA I want true YA, YA that I can give to my thirteen year old neighbour. YA that I cannot send on submission to an adult publisher. YA that is truly for teenagers across all genres. Give me those authentic teenage experiences, whether it's in the contemporary space or otherwise.

In adult, I'm looking for something fresh and am particularly keen on cross genre. Horromance (especially if it's funny), fantasy-thriller, thriller-mance etc. I take on adult work very selectively and only if I feel it has translation potential.
