Thank you for your interest in querying me.

I understand this process can feel very opaque. Here is some information that I hope will make it easier to query me succesfully:

This is the best (and only) place to reach me with your work. I do not read or respond to emailed queries.

Please include your query letter, including bio, and the first twenty pages of your manuscript (for fiction) or your proposal (for nonfiction). Although this form allows for additional info, I pay most attention to your query letter, so I encourage you to include the full letter exactly as you would when querying via email.

I'm more likely to be grabbed by personalized letters, feel free to let me know why you think we're a match.

I do not accept:
-- work I have already declined, unless it has been significantly revised and/or I have previously invited you to resubmit. (In which case please do note this in your letter).
-- queries for books for children (including YA).

I personally read all of my queries, and it can take me up to 16 weeks to read a sample closely. I respond to all queries that meet my guidelines. If you are still waiting to hear back on your query after 16 weeks feel free to nudge me. (Note I do not read and respond to queries "in order" so please feel free to ignore the querytracker timeline function.)

Please let me know if you recieve a competing offer of representation so I can prioritize your work.

I understand the limitations of this format, and am very forgiving of wonky formatting that might arise when copying work over. Likewise typos, mistakes in my name, etc. Mistakes of this nature won't affect my consideration of your work.

Thank you for reading, and for querying. I look forward to reading your work.
