I'm an Assistant Literary Agent at The Seymour Agency. I've been writing and self-publishing for ten years, and I've been in your place with seeking representation and submission to editors so I understand your wish to be represented. However, I'm limiting the number of authors I represent due to life, which makes me very picky. My passing on your manuscript is no reflection of your writing. For lack of a better phrase, "I like what I like when I see what I like." If you see a lot of rejections around your work, it means I'm still considering. I may be reading and rereading to ensure your voice and story are an art I can work with. I will respond to all submissions.

Auto rejections will be stories that are not KidLit. I'm firm on age groupings for the genres: 0-18 years of age within specific KidLit genres. If characters are older than 18 (in college or working a full-time job) in a YA, I consider that New Adult, which is not a genre I'm looking for right now. Please ensure your characters and narrative fall within KidLit before querying me. I write Romance so I'm not looking for YA Romance at this time because I don't want the appearance of impropriety. If there's a central romance plot, I will politely pass. I'm hoping to consider picture books that harken to classic stories

In Non-Fiction, I enjoy Memoir, Finance, Craft & Hobbies, Art & Photography, Home & Garden, Health & Fitness, and Writing Craft Reference.

Please do not submit Religious/Christian/Faith-Based Fiction or Non-Fiction, Historical, Poetry, Novellas, Short Stories, Sci-fi, or epic Fantasies.
