Hello there!

I know stories are deeply personal and sacred, so I am grateful to be considered in your agent search.

I represent both genre fiction and non-fiction. You can visit the BookEnds website to learn more about my MSWL. Please note, I do not currently consider memoir, middle grade, chapter books, picture books, poetry, or screenplays.

I do respond to all queries through Query Manager as soon as I am able. To ensure you receive my communication please clear query@querytracker.com from your spam filters so you don’t miss any emails.

Please note: Like most agents, I do not consider queries simultaneously submitted to another BookEnds agent in the previous 60 days, for this project or another. I also only consider queries that are addressed specifically to me.

Aside from the writing itself, I am looking for many things, but the primary consideration is: does this book have a good hook? To discern whether you have a good hook, imagine a stranger browsing the aisles of a bookstore and picking up your book at random. They read one, maybe two sentences of cover copy, knowing nothing else about it. Do they feel a rush of curiosity? Are they compelled to keep going? For me, the best query letters give me that feeling: the immediate, compulsive need to keep reading to found out more. Please also try to keep your query succinct.

Thank you once again for giving me the chance to review your work!

Best wishes,

Keifer Ludwig
