Send a Query to Chelsea Hensley at Mad Woman Literary Agency

View this agent's QueryTracker profile.

Thanks so much for your query! Please note the list of genres and categories I'm open to. If you do not see your category listed, I am NOT accepting queries for it at this time.

Picture Books: Please paste your full text (if a text-only project) in the sample section. If querying a dummy, please include your sample pages and a link.

Graphic Novels: Please include your query and sample pages. You may share your artwork and proposal via a link in the appropriate section.

Fiction: Please paste the first 5 pages of your project. If I like your query and sample and want to read more, I will request the first 50 pages and a complete synopsis. If I’d like to read more beyond this, I will request the full manuscript.

Though I aim to respond promptly to queries, I may fall behind from time to time. However, all queries submitted through QueryManager will receive a response. If you haven’t received one, your work is still being considered. Please let me know if you receive an offer of representation from another agent or an offer of publication from a publisher, and I will do my best to prioritize your submission. You do not need to notify me of full requests.

You are welcome to withdraw and resubmit at any time, but please do not resubmit a previously passed on project without having made extensive revisions. Please do not submit to more than one agent at Mad Woman Literary at a time.

I’m unable to offer personalized feedback on every query at this time, due to the volume of submissions. Please know a pass from me isn’t necessarily any indication of the quality of your work—I may just believe myself not to be the best fit. Please continue creating and searching for the best agent for you.
