We are NOT accepting submissions from any other regions, including but not limited to: USA, UK, Canada, Europe, India or Africa. Lisa is unable to take on any manuscripts she has previously worked on in her capacity as a freelance editor, mentor or sensitivity reader.

If you're submitting a picture book that has both text and images, please copy and paste the words into the appropriate section. The file limit is 2MB, so a few smaller sample pages for illustrations is fine. Do not email me the manuscript, as I do not open files from unknown senders. I will not be responding to emails with these attachements.

As a guide: 150 word Author Bio, 500 word Query Letter, 600 word synopsis.

On a personal note: As a Murri woman, I have my own ethics and expectations around appropriate representation of minorities and historically voiceless peoples in literature. If your work touches on those issues, make sure you’ve thought about what that means in terms of ethics and protocols. There are questions in this submission form around this, and it’s okay not to be certain when filling it out. These are incredibly complex questions with no definitive or easy answers, and that’s not what I’m expecting from authors. Nor am I expecting you to follow my personal ethics. I’m just asking if you’ve thought about it and what your understanding is around that, as I believe it’s an important conversation that must be had. If you disagree with me, then I’m not the agent for you.
