I'm currently looking for novels in the fantasy genre and/or romance WITH SPICE! For fantasy, I'm interested in more than just the romance that two characters have. Give me intricate political and/or magic systems and complex character backstories. For contemporary romance, I'm looking for things that take me off the beaten path. Think Butcher & Blackbird or Haunting Adeline.

Aspects I'm looking for in every submission:

• Complex characters
• Uplifting friendships
• Dynamic/Witty dialogue
• Kickass female portagonists (Celaena Sardothian from TOG, Sloane from B&B, Auren from the Gold Plated Prisoner series, Violet from Fourth Wing, Adeline or Sibby from Haunting Adeline)

What I would love to see in a manuscript:

• Anything with a focus on the God Hermes showing him in all his glorious God of Mischief! I would love to see more Hermes out there
• LGBTQ relationship (like Simon Snow and Baz) Think something like Ninth House, but with the character dynamic of Simon and Baz. I love my enemies-to-lovers.
• Spin on a cliche (Like the meet-cute but with a darker turn similar to Butcher & Blackbird)
• Fairytale retellings
• Mythological retellings that we haven't seen yet like African myths, Norse myths, Asian myths OR characters that we haven't seen much of such as Rumplestiltskin or King Midas
• Neurodivergant characters
• Characters with disabilities
• BIPOC characters

Other things/genres I wouldn't say no to:

• Fluffy feel good romances like Levi and Cath from Fangirl
• Historical Fiction with fantasy elements like Kingdom of the Wicked
• Historical Fiction that does a spin on gender norms like Stalking Jack the Ripper
• Light Fantasy/Magical Realism in everyday settings like Ninth House (Dark setting, complex characters, slow burn and all!)
