Very polite rejection letter. Unfortunately she doesn't have any referrals to offer but wishes for the author to not give up search in finding the right agent.

Do we know the next time she will read submissions. She is my first round pick. I know chances of rejection are high. Still I am foolishly optimistic (I understand this is a tough game - to get an agent)

specuKate - Thanks for the positive, encouraging message for those of us who have been querying for a long time. It does give us hope! Congrats!

I am thrilled to report that I signed with Kristin! My decision was difficult as I was in a position to choose (still can't believe this happened.) She went out of her way to read my manuscript quickly because I had offers on the table already, and then was so insightful about my manuscript as well as enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the next steps. I so look forward to working with her!
(Also, I can be a message of hope for other writers. I have been querying for years. This is my first time having success with an agent! Hang in there!)

"Thank you so much for thinking of Nelson Literary Agency for your query. We wish we could offer a more personalized response but on average, we receive 500+ email query letters a week. Do know that every query letter and sample are read and even though your project is not right for us, it might be right for another agent so don’t give up! We are also sorry to have no agent recommendations to offer.

Good luck with all your publishing endeavors.

Anyone else having a hard time with Kristin's email server? My emails keep bouncing back. I guess I will wait till the new year and their new query system unless somebody has some insight.
