This was the nicest and most thoughtful rejection I've ever received. Jon gave me hope that my novel could be published someday and I really needed that. Definitely query this agent. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones who lands him!

Like the other two commenters, I got a detailed response... but mine was a full!

Took about three hours from query to his response and he'd clearly read the 50 page sample. I'm pretty excited about this one, Aevitas is a great agency.

Response on the full took just over a month (he apologized for being slow, but I think it was the fastest response I've had on a full). Had a lot of nice things to say, but pointed out some flaws as well, very helpful and deeply informative rejection. I responded to thank him and ask if he's interested in seeing an edited version once I address his concerns and he agreed.

Still holding out hope on this one, every communication is quick, professional, and friendly. Seems like exactly the right personality for an agent. I'll update again when I send him the revised version.

I see the person who subbed a full just after me got an R&R too. Good luck anonymous stranger, whoever you are!

auto response that due to the volume of submissions that not every submission would get a response.

I got a full request in about a half a day, but didn't see it at first because it went into my spam folder. Super nice comments and totally personalized, not just a form letter.

This was by far the most informative, helpful, and nicest query rejection I have ever received. This agent is truly stellar and cares about writers and their hard work. He was very complimentary of my writing and shined a ray of hope on me in this desolate industry. I wish him nothing but the best, and lucky are those who get him as an agent!
