@Dreamland0516

For what it's worth, my Form Rejection had a personalized post-script referencing some personal stuff I mentioned in my query. It definitely seemed like Sam was the one reviewing my query. I think she just stays on top of her query pile and knows what she's looking for. Personally, I'd rather a quick response than a CNR.

I submitted three of my four query-shape manuscripts to this agent, and each time a form rejection came back the next day.
Espionage Thriller Sent 5 Feb - Rejected 6 Feb
MG SF Time Travel sent 6 Feb - Rejected 7 Feb
Adult SF Sent 10 Feb - rejected 11 Feb.

I am noticing a pattern with the two other comments. Rejections come swiftly the next day, which means this agent does not seem to be spending much time with queries. Despite her wish list, she must be looking for something very specific. Rejections feel run by an intern, as the agency has a community email address.

I feel like it must be very rare for queries at this agency to make it before an agent, and it turns me off from the agency as a whole. If there were a yelp for literary agencies, I would give this practice a bad review. One half star, do not recommend. I would rather each agent have their own inbox and only reply if interested than this.

Dear David,

Thank you so much for your query. I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to consider your work, but unfortunately, I'm afraid this one is not quite right for my list. I wish you all the best in finding the perfect agent to champion your work.

Cheers,
Sam
