my general rule of thumb is don't nudge before 90 days. Especially since agents like Lori are using querymanager, you know the query isn't lost in a spam folder or anything like that. They have likely already seen it and set it aside. Either because its in a maybe pile, or they're waiting to see if someone else ends up making an offer.

Nudged due to offer of rep: 1/23/26 + 1/28/26 (extended deadline until February 9)
Rejection 2/3/26: It would be difficult to complete a thoughtful read in this timeline, even with the welcome extension.
Uhm, I get that agents are busy people, but this phrasing feels like she’s shifting the blame onto me. It would have landed better if she’d simply said: I’m sorry, but I don’t have the time or bandwidth to read your manuscript within this timeline.
Anyway, time to move on.
