Very kind rejection and very encouraging, but did not feel she connected with the characters.

Choked about this one since I really liked her. But got kind form rejection, same "didn't connect with the characters" one as everyone else.

9/15 LatinxPitch - I had received likes from both Jennifer and Analieze Cervantes (another agent at Harvey Klinger). Jennifer had liked only my YA Paranormal/Horror pitch while Analieze had liked this pitch as well as another pitch of mine for a different manuscript. I was instructed by Analieze to query both her and Jennifer with my two different manuscripts - Analieze received one manuscript which was a YA thriller (I had actually already sent my query for this manuscript to Analieze the weekend before LatinxPitch, she just hadn't seen it yet) and then I sent the YA Paranormal/Horror manuscript to Jennifer on 9/16.

On the evening of 9/16 both Jennifer and Analieze requested fulls for the two different manuscripts. I sent the full to Analieze ASAP but I had some work to do on my other manuscript for Jennifer so I wasn't able to send it to her until 9/23.

On 10/1 I had received an offer of rep from another agency and informed both Jennifer and Analieze who responded immediately letting me know they were still interested and would read my manuscripts ASAP and get back to me.

On 10/7 we had a zoom call, all three of us, and I was just absolutely BLOWN AWAY and in awe of how much they enjoyed my two different manuscripts (though we mostly focused on the one I had sent to Jennifer). Their knowledge and truly just dedication and vision for this book was completely aligned with mine and though it was a tough decision, I had to go with Analieze and Jennifer! I am SO excited and happy to be working with the both of them and am very excited for the future!

36 days from query to response. 10/13/2020 - Mystery - 71,000 - same form letter as others below.

Although, I found your query interesting, I didn't quite feel connected to the characters as I had hoped. Due to this, I won't be asking to read more at this time.

Keep in mind that the publishing industry is very subjective, and what might not work for me may work for another agent. I hope you'll continue to learn and practice your craft. Thank you again for considering me.

I'll be cheering you on, and I wish you the very best in finding the right agent to champion your work.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

I got the same response as CRogers. This must be her (very nice) but form reply:
