4/6/25: Queried; Fantasy (Magical realism; 80K words). Automatic response:

Hi,

Thank you for your query. Please note that I respond to every query I receive. However, due to my client workload, it may be a few months before you hear back so that I can give your query the time and attention it needs. Please let me know if you receive another offer of representation or if you are withdrawing your query.

I look forward to reviewing your work,

Sera

Dear ___,

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to consider [TITLE]. After reviewing your work, I'm afraid it's not a fit for my list. Please note that my interests are purely subjective, and I encourage you to continue querying to find the right agent.

Thank you for considering me and best of luck with your publishing journey.

Best,
Sera

@CeceK ... Examining her 6-month response pattern, it appears that her response time may be slower than QueryTracker's automatic close time (after 120 days). Still, she will respond if you extend the automatic close date of your query. She responded to queries past 140 days. I recommend extending the automatic close date for all your queries in case the agent needs more time, and allowing you the ability to check in if you feel the agent might have overlooked your query (if they don't specify a "pass if no response by" timeframe, of course). Or if you get an offer or representation, but still want to allow a preferred agent to consider it. Good luck!

My query has closed after 121 days because no response from the agent. Agent that I did meet at a writer conference and who said they were interested in reading more and encouraged me to query through this platform when their wondow opens.
Apparently, they open their queries every 1-10th each month...

121 days later, and I know they have opened again in the meantime. Maybe stop opening for queries and start replying to the ones you got ;)
