EQ: 11/16/23
Response received 11/25/23 (YES, on a Saturday!)
UPDATE: Send revised query on 2/20/24...crossing fingers!!

Vicky said she loved the concept but thought the writing still needed work...also that this was NOT a rejection(!). She said she was "craving more intensity" and that I "barely scratched the surface." She invited me to revise and resubmit my query and even provided me with a self-editing checklist. (YAY! She's a fan of the Oxford comma!) The checklist includes basic writing mechanics as well as reminders to "show, don't tell" and avoid information dumps. While the suggestions are helpful, I'm wondering whether she's looking for more of a rewrite (to bring more intensity) or a tightening up of what's there. I'm guessing a bit of both, but if someone can message me to help me wrap my mind around how to approach this, I'd appreciate it!

I think this was a personalized rejection, which I really appreciate, and she sort of let the door open for resubmission with revisions, which is super nice.

Thank you for submitting _________ to me. Unfortunately, I found myself craving more - a stronger hook and higher stakes, especially. That said, I would be open to seeing this manuscript again in the future after revisions.

Anyone else still waiting for a response from Nov 13th? I’m really hoping this means she’s considering my MG.
UPDATE: Full request 1-5-2024 YAY!

UPDATE: 1-28-24 Vicky forwarded my MG to Tina stating it may be a better match. Hopefully so!
