Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Thank you for giving the Darley Anderson Children’s Book Agency a chance to consider your work. And for your patience in waiting for a reply.

Unfortunately, this is not right for us. We receive over 300 submissions a week and can only take on a handful of new writers and illustrators every year. The result is that we have to be incredibly selective, so please do not be too disheartened. Another agent may well feel differently.

Should one be based in the UK to query this agency? I'm just curious. She seems like a good fit for my MS, but I'm in the states.

Not right for us rejection--they only want ms for certain mass market bestsellers.

It's hard to take a rejection too personally when it's a form coming from someone you didn't query (maybe an intern?). Oh well, moving on!

So I only sent a query, however they emailed me back asking for a synopsis and the first 3 chapters. Maybe a partial? I'm just excited that they didn't write me off for not sending everything the first time!

I followed this up as per their instructions on 8 July. Still not heard anything. Closing this query today (14 Aug) but disappointed in lack of response when they say they reply to every query
