Is Mr. Elwell still with Harold Ober Assoc.? He's not listed on their website. Also, AAR link is bad.

They just sent my materials back without a letter at all. I worked for hours on my submittal and I wasn't worthy of getting even a form rejection letter. I didn't realize that they sent the materials back, I was just expecting at least form rejection letter like the other writers on here or nothing at all. I am heartbroken not because they clearly rejected me but did so with no empathy or respect whatsoever. Never planned on writing anything negative about anyone on this site, but I'm completely heartbroken. If they never responded at all, I'd be fine. I already closed them out. But someone took the time to stuff my work into the envelop, taped it closed and made sure it made it into the mail without even printing out a stock letter and sticking it in with it. Makes me want to give up. I won't but I want to.

Form letter on YA fiction

I received the following form letter from this agent : We are sorry but our client list is already so long and the work on hand so heavy that we don't feel justified in adding to it." So why are these people still on Query tracker? Why did I waste my time, paper and postage? I am thoroughly pissed off.

I met Kathleen Zakhar at the Writer's Digest Conference east. She's an assistant, and isn't in this database yet.

Form rejection. Suspense novel. Said his workload is too heavy (a different polite way of saying "No", at least).

Their submission guidelines are listed under "contacts" and are as follows:

Author submissions are accepted only by postal mail, and must be addressed to a specific agent for consideration. Please enclose a concise cover letter, the first five pages of your manuscript or proposal, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for reply.

Hope this helps.

Met with him last year at Thrillerfest and got a request for pages. Called the agency to confirm E-mail or snail mail and got a severe brow beating from his secretary for having the gall to ask such a stupid question. I don't even know why I bothered sending the pages after that. Never heard from them again. By the way, if you can't manage your own website or pay someone to do it, are you really that great of an agent?

Sent e-mail query b/c I am a previously published author. Prompt, next day rejection. "Unfortunately your book would not be right for us."

This site does say it accepts email submissions, but when you get in and read it states only snail mail. Just a note...
