Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

He teaches several workshops a year and I had the opportunity to sit on a couple. He is very passionate about the writing world and has high expectations, but his agency sells the highest number of novels per year than any other. He is a busy man and must find it difficult to check his numerous queries.

Blunt form rejection. Particularly depressing based on the personalized query I sent him. After making The Dresden Files a possibility, the Maass Agency is next to godlike to me, and I would have loved to be represented by it. Oh well, moving on.

Edit: Oh, dear. I didn't realize that I'd sent another query to someone else in the same agency. :S I haven't heard back from her, so maybe it's still a possibility. Or I might have shot myself in the foot by querying them both by accident. I guess we'll see.

AndreaClimbing & wtrimrob, I had the same thing happen to me. EQ 1/22/14 and no response despite a nudge in March. I hope that he's just behind, but fearing the worst, have gone ahead and closed this one out.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing, Andrea. I sent a query on 4 January and haven't heard anything, either. I've written it off as CRN. Maybe he'll catch up someday.
