Astounded at the speed-reading capabilities of whomever is opening and reading these queries. Four minutes to open, read query plus sample pages, attach auto-rejection and send. Someone, call Marvel.

3/5: queried Deidre Knight via #querysprint
3/6: request for first 3 chapters -- sent -- Deidre indicated she'd rec'd the chapters and would be passing it along to another agent looking for YA
3/9: nudge with offer to publish
3/9: Deidre said she passed it to Elaine, who was out of the office for the weekend. Asked for more time to read.
3/15: This may have been the loveliest rejection I've ever received! She was full of compliments, but the plot is too familiar to her. I appreciate her response. She seems so thoughtful and kind.

PR after pitched at Atlanta Writers Workshop 2/25/17: she asked for 50 pages. Family saga w/romance and fantasy elements.
3/6/17 sent query/partial
3/7/17 Got nice personalized rejection: "Thank you for taking the time to meet with me at the event in Atlanta a few weekends back. I reviewed the material that you sent and am afraid I’m going to pass on pursuing it more at this time. While its strong writing and a very unique and entertaining idea it’s a little too far abreast of where I’m looking to build my list. When I was reading I couldn’t figure out who exactly I would send this project to and that tells me I’m not going to be your best ambassador. You’ve got a lot of talent however and I hope you find a better suited match."

Very nice lady.

Really enthusiastic FR 7/20/2016
Sent a follow up on 9/30 and got a very sweet email today (10/5) explaining that she still loved it but has been super busy with office stuff so she hasn't been able to finish quite yet and will have an answer soon.
My fingers are crossed! She seems so wonderful, I'm sure working with her would be fantastic.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass along that she's had a bunch going on in case anyone is also waiting to hear back.

Update: 2/8 - The world's nicest step aside I've ever received. Honestly, whoever gets to work with her is really lucky
