After 176 days I randomly received the below rejection, which is frankly pretty gross and disrespectful. Someone spent a lot of time sending their work and she went through and bulk cleaned out her inbox to start fresh and auto rejected everyone. This is pretty terrible. I’d have preferred a CNR tbh. I wouldn’t want to work with her after this. It says a lot about her character and how she handles her workload/job.
“ Thank you so much for allowing The Knight Agency to consider your material. My sincere apologies for the long overdue response to your query- as a consequence of the outdated nature of this response I am passing purely based on the timeline. Should you still be looking for representation I encourage and welcome you to resubmit, and I'll aim to respond more quickly based on the merits of your work. I appreciate your understanding and apologize for not being more efficient in my response.
Warmly,
Elaine”

It was a long time for a reply, but I did get a nice rejection letter. Although it was probably a standard reply, it was written as if they actually looked at what I sent.
