Maybe just me. I didn't feel comfortable with the website. It was basic, bland (black and white), old sales were advertised with very few newer ones.
What I want in an agent?
I want to choose a fighter to work alongside me in championing my work. I need an advertiser because that is what I will be busy doing. I need a professional that is well learned and known throughout agencies and publishers. I need a marathon runner who seems to have 36 hours in a day because the agent is well structured with dispersing time. Someone I can talk to and make suggestions about storyline and marketing and I trust they have seen it all before.
In researching, Mr. O'Higgins, it was much like entering a haunted house. I didn't know if something was going to pop-up but I expected it to. I was left with an eerie bitter taste of book death.

Second rudest, curtest, most ridiculous rejection letter I have ever received.

Patrick:

scribe is currently closed to nonfiction and short fiction collections, and does not represent humor, cozy mysteries, faith-based fiction, screenplays, poetry, or works based on another's ideas.

Query - 04/27/2015
Reject - 06/01/2015
SF - 123,000 words.

Replied: "thank you for your query, but we are not interested", with no words capitalized. Most abrasive rejection I've ever gotten. Susanjett was correct when she said "[T]here are times when 'no response' just has more dignity." DNQ.

Received a similar rejection a few weeks ago, sorry I don't have the exact date. "Sorry for the delay. Besides we're not interested." (??) I had sent my query 5/31/2014 and had written it off as a CNR months ago. What made me mention this now? He just accepted my friend request (also from 2014) on FB today.

Epic fantasy

Same exact reply as previous posters, incl. bad grammar & punctuation. Signed 'Peace'(!)

Um, yeah.

I never thought I'd say this, but there are times when 'no response' just has more dignity...
