Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Ouch, I'm sorry PennAuthor, that's a pretty horrible experience.

EQ 11.4.2009 (two months before query holiday).
Received the "Received" email in response, and but nothing after that. Have given up on this one.

Their web site says that both he and Ted Malawer are only taking queries from people they meet at conferences now.

So, did anyone hear back over the query break? Or should I assume that if I didn't hear back, it's a no?

The entire Upstart Crow team is on sabbatical until January 15, 2010 (just for the holidays, it sounds like), so they'd like everyone to hold off on new submissions until then. (They did mention in their blog post that they will respond to all outstanding submissions by year's end, so no need to resubmit.)

Anybody received a reply from Mr. Stearns lately? It seems like he responds in waves, so hopefully he's getting ready for another one...

I received a rejection letter from Michael Stearns today via email.

8/8 submitted some pages with an e-query
10/31 rejection, but very nicely worded

Good luck to those still waiting to hear back.

No replies since 9/10 for anything submitted after 8/5 from Mr. Stearns. Buried in agency startup work? I'm inclined to send this agency to the blackhole of non-responders. Little do they know the power I possess. Mwuhahaha! See how nuts this querying stuff is making me?
