Rejection was punctual and polite. She didn't think it was a good fit for her.

She emailed me today, saying she was forwarding my ms to her colleague, Melissa Jeglinski, who she thought would be a better fit!

I got the exact same rejection today as well. Not on an R&R but on a full that had some correspondence back and forth. So close yet so far away!

@beckster308 thanks for letting me know! It's a little disappointing but fingers crossed that there'll be other opportunities soon :)

@writingclouds...yes! After receiving and responding to a full request, receiving an email saying her husband read it and "sang my praises" and asking if I had been offered rep yet, I received a R&R with glowing and generous feedback. I made the corrections, resubmitted, and got another full request. Then I got this exact same response 3 months later. I was especially stunned because it was not consistent with the tone of her previous replies. I wonder if she has a new assistant filtering her responses on her behalf? I know people's lists and needs can change, but "not right for my list" is something usually used for a query rejection, not a full on a R&R. I'm still grateful for the previous feedback though but was heartbroken because she seems awesome and I thought I was almost there. Good luck everybody. Let's all keep trying.

Out of curiosity, did anyone else get a rejection (after submitting a full) that said she enjoyed the read but it wasn't right for her list? (I don't mind getting a form rejection because there's agents who sometimes don't even reply to fulls but I'm wondering if she actually enjoyed the read or if it's just part of a form rejection)

6/18/20 - She sent me a quick note to say the ms file was corrupted, and asked to re-upload. So that might give folks an idea of where she is in the queue. Fingers crossed!
