@mimic871, agents will often close in order to catch up with what they have to read, so I'm sure she'll get to yours. Good luck.

I have a full out with the agent, and see that she is now closed to queries. Does that she mean she is no longer reviewing what she has received or no longer reviewing anything new? Sorry if this is a basic question!

@Senorita_Marigold everyone should absolutely keep querying other agents, even if one requests a full! I'm not sure who gave you the advice to wait, but never do that. Some agents request heaps of fulls (Deidre Knight is known for it apparently) but it doesn't mean they are more likely to sign you up. I've seen published writers say they were rejected 200 times before they found their agent - if you waited three months for each one to get back to you, it would be 50 years before you got an agent. It is indeed very weird that we all have to go through this process assuming everyone's going to reject us, and it's dispiriting, but that's how it works. Keep going! You're clearly doing something right, if you're getting full requests!

Website states she's also acquiring fantasy (though I know she's closed to submissions)

Right now, I’m being very selective, but am seeking new authors in the areas of women’s fiction, fantasy, thriller (except espionage/political), chick lit, as well as contemporary romance with high concepts that can be published in a bigger way. Please only send novels over 60K in length. Also seeking nonfiction in the categories of sports, business, finance, cookbook, pop culture, current affairs, gardening, health and fitness, history, home décor and design, lifestyle, parenting, memoir, and travel. The nonfiction categories are not exhaustive, so be sure to check query manager if you don’t see a particular category here.

I feel your frustration Senorita.Marigold, but many agents take this amount of time or even longer to respond to fulls--and sometimes don't even respond at all (which is really awful). Yes, she seems to request a lot--probably too many. I do hope you kept querying during this time.

I cannot believe I waited 163 days to receive the following:

Dear ~~~,
Thank you for sending me the manuscript for ~~~. I enjoyed the read, but in the end, this project didn't quite work for my list. I wish you all the very best.

Thank you for the opportunity, and good luck with other agents.
Best, Deidre

It's not that I'm upset that she rejected me, rather, after requesting a full, I had to wait that long for her to get back to me. Just a caution for other querying writers that, even if she requests your full, to keep querying other agents!

It seems to me as even reading through the comments here too that this has happened to others as well. And that if someone tells her that she has two weeks to read through their manuscript she always seems to reject. And why is this? It's because of the rate of which she accepts full manuscripts.

I do personally feel that this is an issue. Because I would rather have an agent who just outright rejects my query than having to wait half a year just to hear back.
