EQ: 7/6 YA 68K

ER: 9/6 (not sure if this is a form. It's a very kind form response.)

Thank you so much for thinking of me for your project! I thought your query and sample were well-written with a strong concept but not quite what I’m looking for at the moment. Because I’m careful to keep my client list manageable, I’m being really selective about what I request. However, I think another agent is going to be intrigued enough to ask for the manuscript and I’m sorry I can’t offer a referral.

Good luck with all your publishing endeavors.

Obvious copy and paste that all the agents use. Still encouraging, though

Pass: 2017-06-12 She didn't feel it was a "must read." Perhaps I can rewrite, re-order some things as suggested, but I feel like I'm pretty much out of potential agents at this point. This was my eighth request for this novel, and so much of the agent feedback has been kind and solid, yet contradictory.

Here's a snippet of her letter: "Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read the full manuscript of (title) -- and for your patience as I read and share with my team. I so appreciated that! This story has all the elements I love -- an interesting premise and a well-built world. The writing is solid with a nice voice. A dynamic, interesting protagonist." Just as an FYI to folks who get requests from her, this is a form letter -- another queryer got the same feedback. She customizes a little after this, but we both got this same text. So it LOOKS like a helpful letter, and it SOUNDS like a helpful letter, but I'm not sure it really is.

Form letter rejection 24 days after a query with 95K WF. It was kind, stating my query and sample were well-written.
