Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Just sent my synopsis with first chapter of novel. Will not get discouraged if no reply. Someone will except my novel. There's nothing out there like it. I'm sure you've heard that one before (:

Same experience as DrCarter2001. E-queried May 2011. Gary requested full the next day saying he couldn't wait to see what happened next. Politely inquired in October. No reply.

I never heard anything back from Elaine or Gary regarding my full despite two nudges. I haven't closed it out, and will try another nudge if I ever get an offer elsewhere, but I'm already disappointed by the lack of responsiveness.

Web site says only query one agent; they pass them along to others. I queried Markson' colleague Elaine Jackson; took her four months to reply ... said my query only "just now resurfaced" ... not sure if that meant she passed it along. What do you think ... query just one agent, or wait a while and then query second, third, etc?

Do consider such effort to comment rare and valuable. Hardly ever happens.
