Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Anotherearth, did you mean Donald Maass and not Denise Shannon?

Thank you for your recent query to the Denise Shannon Literary Agency. Unfortunately, we do not feel your project is right for us, but we wish you the best of luck elsewhere.

Form rejection:
Thanks for writing about your novel, but I'm afraid I didn't connect with the story strongly enough to feel I'd be the advocate the book deserves. I'll step aside, then, with best wishes for your finding the right match elsewhere. Thanks again for the opportunity to consider this, and best wishes for its success.

I'm a little bit gutted... this is my third rejection now with no requests and no favorites from #PitMad yesterday... but trying to be zen about it and keep going.

On 2/4/16, I've requeried Stacia Decker with Chain Reaction. Yesterday I've heard back from her--didn't connect. So I"ll try Jennifer Carlson this spring with Venom.

Somewhat personalized rejection after seven days for a 75K historical mystery-thriller.

3/1 - After 7 days I got a rejection. Form. Didn't connect with the premise.

Sent a great rejection letter - quickly too (only after a day of submission), Not what I hoped for, but the story didn't entice her enough to give it proper representation, which I can respect.

Sounds like she is getting tons a queries right now because of some random article on Medium. This is her tweet: So apparently I was in a Medium article on agents accepting queries and now I have like 4x my normal number of queries.

Very kind and personalized rejection that spoke highly of my work and gracefully explained it just wasn't for her. Additionally, she included a recommendation for another agent who might be a better fit. I'm definitely disappointed, but I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience.
