Update: I decided to risk it and email back, asking for clarification on her note to me and if she could expand on what needed to be fixed. She sent back some suggestions, which was really nice of her. So even though she passed, it was a really positive experience and I managed to get some helpful feedback out of it, even without an official R&R.

FYI, she says on her profile that any query with #ownvoices in the subject line gets read first.

Revise and resubmit, with suggestions about what to change. I'm going to have to spend a little time thinking about how to implement this, but Lauren seems great, and addressing the points she raises can only improve this manuscript. So I'm going to give this a shot!

Lauren is really great. My interactions with her have been lovely. Her revision suggestions were true to my story and made it better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
