4/18/22 - Query - Memoir
7/7/22 - Full Request
8/15/22 - Offer of Representation

Ms. Thompson and her agency were one of my top choices when I began searching for an agent. I knew it was unlikely that I'd ever hear back from her; the vast majority of her clients are referrals, but I queried her anyway. More than eighty days passed before she responded and asked for my full manuscript. Two weeks later, she opened a dialogue through QueryManager and asked if I'd be willing to work with an editor. Publishing can be a cruel, painful industry for debut writers, but if you love and believe in your work, don't give up.

Publishers Lunch this week reports they are splitting the agency. "The Thompson Literary Agency and Einstein Literary Management will each open for business in January 2015, with both agencies continuing to work with Sandy Hodgman at Hodgman Literary for foreign rights."

I submitted a query in December. Yesterday I got an email asking for my full manuscript. I sent it last night, and had a rejection by 2:30 today. Both the request and the rejection were "dear author" form letters. I'm wondering now if the request was a glitch in the system and they never meant to request my manuscript in the first place. This happen to anyone else?
