Sent David a query yesterday, 10/11. 145k suspense, thriller, sci-fi
He sent me an encouraging personalized letter today, 10/12.
I appreciate the time and effort, even though, it was a pass.
Often, we must continue on. It isn't that our work is weak, but that we haven't found that "perfect teammate" yet. I personally binge myself on reviews before making purchase of a book series. I don't expect more from anyone else. And, it's difficult to relate to someone in only a brief sampling of my work. It would be hypocritical for me to be upset.

According to the 2019 Guide to Literary Agents (Writer's Digest Books), he just wants a query letter, to begin with.

@bevett1964 I couldn't either. I used the standard query letter, synopsis and first chapter. I haven't been rejected yet but it was only sent last month.

Good luck. :-)

I can't find the submission guidelines for this agency. Any idea what to send from somebody who's sent a query?

We’re also looking for genre-breaking fiction, especially in the areas of science fiction, thrillers, popular culture, urban fantasy, and anything with a compelling concept behind it. Does more science fiction.

Thanks for your patience while I looked at this. There's a lot to like about
the manuscript and I enjoyed the reading, but unfortunately, in the end I
don't think I'm quite the right agent for it. Part of that is that I don't
represent much in the YA space, and I'd very much encourage you to continue
contacting other agents about the book. I suspect it's just a matter of
getting it in front of enough people before you'll find the right person to
take it out for you. And of course, I wish you all the best with the book
going forward.
