EQ: 10/17/18 per DVpit request 75k YA Historical Magical Realism
Emailed Joan letting her know I'd taken part in a contest and had an editor assist with the opening chapters revision. She happily agreed to let me submit the revised MS.

Queried at the end of April/early May
Received very kind, personal response mid-late August saying her pb list is full but she'd be happy to read my mg ms.

Did anyone get a response (of any kind) from one of the pitch comps? Is she a CNR ?

@scritrice yeah, it did--there was no confirmation receipt. I actually had CNRed it a week or two before she eventually responded!

@bookwormwrites Did it take her until your partial request date to respond? Or did she give you a confirmation of receipt before that? I did end up sending mine through the online contact form back in December.

@scritrice assuming you don't need to attach sample pages at this point, you can submit through the agency contact form! That's what I did a couple of months back and she did receive it and respond. Or, tweet at her to ask--others may have the same question and want to see the answer :) best of luck!!

Ms. Paquette also fave'd my #DVPit pitch a few weeks later. I tweeted to her that she already had my full from Pitmad and she said she was backlogged in her reading, but it went to show how much she loved the book's premise. Ack! Now, to wait...

6/24: Favorited a Twitter pitch; I sent query and pages.
9/6: Full request. I had to wait a few weeks to send it, as I was in the middle of finishing up a non-exclusive R&R.
10/13: Notified of offer from another agent. The day before my deadline, she finished reading it and said she loved it, and asked for more details about my writing path, future projects, etc. We chatted, but ultimately she had to pass, since she said she's a bit swamped right now and one of her client's newest manuscripts has a similar feel to mine; she did, however, say I was welcome to get in touch in the future should I find myself ever needing representation again. I accepted another offer from an agent I think is the perfect match for me, but I adore Ammi-Joan and highly recommend her to anyone who has the chance to query her.
