Okay...for the 2nd time in less than a month...I wonder where this leaves those of us who have manuscripts with this agent?

Received this:

I'm sorry to say that I no longer work at FinePrint Literary Management and am no longer accepting submissions or requests for representation. I recently moved over to the house side of the industry and am now working at the publisher, W.W. Norton. FinePrint has kindly allowed me access to this e-mail address during the transition, in order to tie up loose ends.

I'm excited about the next stage of my career and while I'm sorry not to be able to help you in your journey, I do wish you the best of luck with finding the right agent for your book!

All the best,
Joy Azmitia

Very nice note says she doesn't like shift in narrative voices. Guess she wouldn't like THE LORD OF MISRULE, PEOPLE OF THE BOOK or THE PARIS WIFE, either, not that I am in those writers' league. Still, it's disappointing when an agent simply doesn't "get it" or at least read the entire work so she can see how all the voices play out. But clearly, she is looking for clients, so I encourage you to query her.

so Joy got back to me and had some comments for me. She passed. I asked her if I made the edits and reworked it would she take another look? she said she would. she is very kind, I like her a lot. Good luck to anyone querying her!

PR: 06/07--requested my proposal and sample chapter! woo!

She does seem very sweet so that is exciting. However, I am brand new to this and its about my life so I am super sensitive about my writing.

Totally nice personalized rejection letter, she seems sweet. Wish she could be my agent. boo hoo. Responded in one day also! It was good to hear she liked writing.

Thanks for sending along a query letter for (title). I'm sorry to say that I'm going to pass on requesting more material, but I should let you know that a pass isn’t a reflection on your writing. I can never be quite sure what will catch my eye, which is why I look at each and every query I receive but, in the end, there’s no telling what queries will resonate with me and what I might let slip away.

She is so polite and sent a nice personalized rejection. But,alas, still a rejection, ho hum. Said the voice wasn't as fresh as she hoped. Maybe I should spray it with Febreeze, why not, I've tried everything else!

Language didn't appeal, although she enjoyed premise, plot, characters... Wants more literary/upmarket-ish. Offered to look at other projects in the future.
