Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Query Guidelines

-Queries should include a 2-4 paragraph pitch -Paste the first 5 pages of your manuscript below your query/pitch.

I'm one of Mandy's clients and she read my MS super fast (I had an offer in a couple days). However, I know she had a bunch of others to work on at the same time and I just happened to hit when she was looking for something like mine so she read it faster.

She's been super busy with client books and the class she's teaching, plus I think she tends to read based on her mood at that moment so she may request a MS and if she gets three that are the same genre, she may break them up with something else. She's AWESOMELY fast for an agent, though, and she makes a point of contacting everyone. It's very important to her! She will 100% respond to everyone.

Mandy *does* respond to all queries, though they do get responded to out of order. If you queried in April and are waiting for a response, you will hear back! Her oldest query right now is from 4/5. She's just swamped at the moment.

Hope that helps!

@writer1218, I sent my query on 5/4, got a full request same day, and confirm receipt 5/5 (since my query had been sent fairly late on 5/4). I have a friend repped by Mandy, who said Mandy was going through her inbox and attempting to reach inbox 0, so I sent my query at the perfect time. I'm pretty certain Mandy responds to all queries, so you may want to resubmit.

(Note: my query WAS a referral from my friend, which I suspect is why I got such a fast response.)

apac123, that may be a good sign? Some agents have an assistant or intern go through and reject the definite nos, and pass along the maybes, or keep a maybe pile for themselves, for the ones they seriously want to consider. I'm not sure about Ms. Hubbard specifically, but with my first MS I had a couple of situations where it seemed my query had been skipped, and I either got a request or a personalized and/or tiered rejection in the end. I'd wait a bit longer!

Does she skip or miss queries? I queried 4/7, haven't heard anything.
