Batch form rejection, like everyone else. It was addressed to the false name on my email account, rather than my real name, which is the one I used in my query.

Thank you for the opportunity to consider your work, but I am sorry to say that I do not think this material would be right for me, and therefore I would not make you most effective advocate. Please remember this is just one agent’s opinion, and there may well be other agents who feel differently.

Thank you for thinking of me, and best of luck to you.

I apologize for the form response, but the volume of queries I receive makes a personal reply impossible.

All my best,
Victoria Marini

I know these batch rejections are annoying, but at least it's an answer. And she's relatively quick.

She too sent me a rejection to my email addressed “undisclosed recipients” complete with work that wasn't mine...... I understand she probably receives hundreds of submissions a day but really???

This rejection email came addressed to “undisclosed recipients” and included a submission that did not belong to me. I’m assuming mine was still rejected but I feel bad for the poor author whose query and pages were attached.

I'm going to faint a little.

(Also "YA Teen" isn't a genre.)

...I'm sorry, are you trying to pitch an actual series? No. No, no, no, no sweetie. Agents will not take on series. Standalone books with series potential they can, but it's up to the publisher if it's ACTUALLY going to be a series or not. And they also will NOT take allow a ten book series... Those aren't a thing. Perhaps small things in the 90's, but not anymore. Unless the first book is extremely successful and then subsequent next two books are as well, publishers won't put in for another set such as was done with Rachel Caine's MORGANVILLE VAMPIRES series. You can only pitch a book as one thing within a query...
