Strung me along for months as I checked status several times. I was not impressed. Thanks for the new information - it will save others time.

Well, he's had my partial for four months with no response. I'm closing this one out.

It was a dark and stormy night, some time after six in the evening, and the agent seemed more lost than usual. Ragged piles of queries sat unanswered in her in-box, and her desk, a beautiful reproduction of the Resolute desk used by the president, was so covered with randomly stacked partials that she barely had room to work.

When I appeared in her open doorway, she didn't bother to look up, addressing me as one of her many assistants. Knowing of her affinity for chocolate chip cookies because of the extensive research I had done on her prior to querying, I slipped the plate of cookies in front of her. When she waved a near perfect hand to dismiss me, I dropped one of the cookies onto her desk.

A mutter slipped past lips that had once known the color of lipstick long forgotten as she reached for the fallen cookie, and it was then that I slipped one hand behind her head and placed the other hand on her desk to brace myself as I leaned into her already pale neck...

Tired of rejections coming from people I didn't even send the query to. Okay, so I know these peeps have interns and assistants but one begins to wonder if the agents themselves are even reading the queries. It's discouraging, to say the least. Especially when you spend four, six, eight hours reading everything by and about an agent to try to hone in on what they might want and how to best approach them.

Since everyone seems to love vampire (gag, personally) stories, how about one of y'all writing one about a vampire that only bites literary agents. That, I might actually read.
