Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Arwen, yes, you should address your email/letter to that agent. "Dear Seth Fishman". That's good practice for all queries, not just this agency.

Hey, I'm sort of confused by the guidelines of the agency. They say that you should indicate in the letter which agent you wish to address--so do you address the letter as a whole to that particular agent? Like can I address the letter to Seth Fishman?

Nyneveh --- When they ask for sample chapter and don't specify they want it as attachment, they usually mean pasting it within the email. If he finds it hard to read, he'd request for an attachment if likes it, right? :)

I'm finding the sub guidelines on Gernert's website a little vague. For email queries did you guys paste your chapter or attach it? I'm afraid that attaching it means Seth won't open it due to fears of a virus but that pasting will make it hard to read if he doesn't normally do that. Thoughts?

Update: Personal rejection 7-Jul-2015. Andy Kifer sent an absolutely lovely note - they said it was really close, but Seth didn't fall in love with it, and with his full list, he really must fall in love. It's simultaneously a blow and a bolster - they come across as extremely professional, organized and smart. Anyone who signs with either Seth or Andy is very lucky, IMHO.
