Thank you for giving me a chance to consider your work. Unfortunately I don’t believe I’m the right person to represent this effectively.

Publishing is a subjective industry by nature so don’t be discouraged. I wish you the best of luck finding an agent who can represent your work with the enthusiasm it deserves.

Gonna take a page out of everyone else's book (lol) and close this one out. Went ahead and queried Rebecca Strauss *fingers crosses*.
UPDATE: so he did actually get back to me which is nice. Got a polite form letter saying that it's not for him but publishing is highly subjective so keep at it :3

M_Heck: not sure what you mean about him having nothing with the Big Five. According to PM, he has at least one deal with Farrar, Straus (a division of Macmillan, which is absolutely in the Big Five). He also has several deals listed on PM with publishers that are certainly in a comparable league to the Big Five insofar as they are large, well-established, highly regarded companies, e.g., Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Overlook (a division of Abrams).

I see that he does tend to send out form rejections even after quite some time has passed, but I'm closing out queries for this particular project.
