Met her at the OWFI conference. Had a great time talking with her during the pitch sessions. Definitely agree with Aubrey.

Looks like that's a firm rejection. She said she had hoped it would be a homerun but she ultimately had to pass.

She did give me a lot of helpful comments, but, unfortunately, didn't let me know any details as to how far she got, which would help me know what needs work. Instead, she gave me a lot of comments about how we need a sympathetic main character and his motivations.

As per her comments during the conference, I emailed her back thanking her for her comments. I did ask if she could let me know how far she got, but thanked her regardless.
-----
After a few days, she did respond and said she got about 10% in. She did give me some more feedback as well, so she's awesome. Unfortunately my project just wasn't the right fit for her.

Met her at the Midwest Writers Workshop. Very down to earth, like her immediately. She is very knowledgeable on marketing and lives in the Midwest rather than New York.

I sent her an email August/12 asking if she'd be interested in reading some PBs - she said yes, and I sent her three, but I never heard anything back from her.

I sent a query in and got a request for a full a few weeks later. I waited three months and sent an updated version of the manuscript. Now she is reading it. Will update when I hear.

This one made me laugh out loud....and think "reallly???"""

Thanks for sending this, but the idea didn't sound fresh to me. So, I'm going to pass. Sorry about that.

This is according to their web site:

MacGregor Literary works primarily with established authors. At this time we are not looking to add unpublished authors except through referrals from current clients.

Regretfully, we cannot invest in the staffing needed to handle the vast number of unsolicited queries and proposals that have begun flooding in. For that reason we will no longer return unsolicited manuscripts sent to us, even if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included.

xxxxx,
Thanks for sending this, but unfortunately I'm going to decline
representation. Until my career is more established, I'm focusing on
picking up published authors.

Thanks,
Amanda

Equeried 6-16, form rejection today! Took almost three months but I would rather get an R than be ignored!

Same here I recieved this e-mail Thanks for sending this, Lisa, but I'm currently focusing on published
authors. It's just the best way to establish my career and give me the
foundation I need to help unpublished authors down the road.
